well kept secret. However, prior to prohibition,
Missouri was the second largest state for wine production in the
country (NY was #1). The industry took a while to recover but has been growing steadily in the past few years. The country side is beautiful and you may find yourself surprised at the quality of some of the wines. If you have time for only one place - I suggest Hermann, Missouri.
