Game On

While visiting St. Louis you may find yourself in need of catching a game of your favorite sports team. Most bars and restaurants in the city will always show the local St. Louis teams, or any prime time sports events, but if you are in need of say catching the Buffalo Bills, or the Edmonton Oilers, you may want to venture to a few sports bars on Washington Ave.

Flannery’s Pub, located at 1324 Washington Avenue, is a “Irish American” pub that offers out of market sports games for their customers. Their menu has everything from appetizers to entrees as well as a good beer selection.

A new bar, the Over/Under, located at 911 Washington Avenue, features 37 large flat screens to show games as well as a 120 inch projector screen for their outdoor patio. Their menu is very diverse, with appetizers, entrees, and other specialties, and has a separate lunch menu for mid-day customers. The Over/Under is becoming a popular meeting place for sports fans before and after local sporting events as well.

Hot Shots is a local sports bar chain that offers out of-market games, along with a basic sports bar menu. They also offer bar games such as pool and darts. A Hot Shots is located just a short cab ride from the Millennium Hotel on 720 S. Broadway Ave.

If you find yourself at a sports bar and do not see your game on a TV, just ask one of the employees, as any sports bar will be more than happy to accommodate their customers. In addition, many of the bars will have special promotions, so you may want to check them out online.
