As we announced in the Summer Newsletter, the Newsletter, beginning with this 2008 Fall Issue, will be published electronically. In the new electronic edition, you will still see every page of the Newsletter, features, news, and ads. And you’ll see them in full color! This eco-friendly change will save more than 122,000 sheets of paper - that’s almost 4,880 pounds of paper! - per year, and will save the life of 1.5 trees. One and a half trees doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s a start.
Of course, there are eco-nomic benefits in going green as well. Printing and mailing costs continue to go up, and the savings gained by going electronic can be used for other AMIA projects and programs. You’ll still be able to print out a copy of the Newsletter if you want to keep it on your desk or take it to the beach.
