ATLANTA (October 8, 2008) – Crawford Media Management, a division of Crawford Communications, Inc. – one of the largest broadcast facilities in the United States, acquires a second Betacam tape robot by SAMMA Systems, the global leader in media migration. This state-of-the-art robot, coupled with Crawford’s existing robot and four SAMMA Solo™ videotape to digital file migration systems, further enhances the Company’s leading-edge services.
“Based on our success over the last year with SAMMA’s platform, we have made an aggressive expansion of our migration capabilities by purchasing two robots this year,” says Jesse Crawford, CEO of Crawford Communications. “These SAMMA Systems meet the challenge of migrating large collections, and seeing the benefit to our clients confirms our choice of this product.”
The first Betacam robot was purchased at NAB this year, and the second one was bought at the recent IBC Conference in Amsterdam
SAMMA’s robotic technology benefits clients with broadcast and archival projects. With the ability to operate around the clock, even large libraries can be migrated in a fraction of the time. Proxy files can be encoded simultaneously with high resolution files.
Crawford launched its media management division in 2007. According to Steve Davis, vice president of media management for Crawford, “The complimentary relationship between our two companies has proven to be a powerful combination. SAMMA Systems’ technology applied with Crawford’s expertise allows our clients to stay focused on their core mission, while their collections are migrated on time and on budget.”
Mark Gray, CEO of SAMMA Systems comments, “Crawford Communications’ focus on their customers is stronger than ever. Over the past year, SAMMA has observed Crawford’s technical and operational prowess resulting in best-of-class customer offerings. I see the industry turning once more to Crawford for leadership in content digitization and management services.”
